Fukui is snow country. And what you can find in a snow country is of course, a ski resort. Fukui has a great one, Ski Jam Katsuyama. This facility is run by the Tokyu Harvest Group. Here, you can enjoy many activities throughout the year. During the other seasons the place is bustling with turf skiing, paragliding, etc. Inside the hotel there is an onsen,with indoor/outdoor baths, and an indoor heated pool. There are also various kinds accommodation: For big groups, families, guests with pets, etc. There are some interesting tourist spots nearby like the famous Dinosaur Museum and Katsuyama Castle nearby. Take a direct bus to the hotel from Fukui City and Katsuyama Station. In ski season, there are tourist plans which include bus tickets and chairlift passes at a reasonable price.
